TRANSPORT AND EVENT MANAGEMENT > DRIVERS |
| The job of a Wimbledon Transport driver involves chauffeuring players, officials and VIPs to and from the Championships in an area mainly in and around London. All drivers must have held a manual licence for at least five years, together with a good driving knowledge of routes in SW and Central London. |
| Over and above this you need to be presentable, personable, willing, flexible, responsible and most importantly discreet. Whilst for some of the time you will be working independently, it is vital that you can swiftly integrate into a team of some 300 people and enjoy the very special camaraderie that is associated with Wimbledon drivers. |
| Our drivers come from all walks of life, and include police officers, ambulance drivers, retired bank managers, teachers, and many many more. Most have an interest in tennis and during your time at Wimbledon there is ample opportunity to watch the play during off-duty periods. |
| Currently the pay is £8.75 per hour, plus holiday entitlement. The period of employment on offer during this event varies from 12 days to 24 days. Full training will be provided during our two-day compulsory programme. |
